The Arab Political Science Network (APSN) and Al-Fanar Media organized an online discussion titled “Research In Pandemic Times” to learn about the results of a survey on the effects of the pandemic on social sciences and humanities researchers studying the MENA region and to discuss ways to overcome the challenges the pandemic presents.
Two authors of the survey, Marwa Shalaby and Gail Buttorff, discussed what they learned from more than 200 faculty members in 32 countries. The survey found that researchers who study the MENA region have faced increased difficulties compared to researchers focusing on other parts of the world.
