Call for Panel Proposals for ACSS 2021

The Arab Political Science Network (APSN) is pleased to announce a call for panel proposals for the 2021 Arab Council for Social Science (ACSS) conference. The conference is scheduled to take place May 21-23, 2021 in Beirut, Lebanon. APSN is committed to sponsoring at least one panel at the ACSS conference. The Deadline to apply is September 6, 2020.

APSN encourages panels in Arabic and English focusing on political issues in the Arab world as it relates to the conference theme. However, APSN also welcomes interdisciplinary panels. Some suggested themes include but not limited to:

  • Gender Politics and the State
  • COVID 19, Crisis Management, and Authoritarianism
  • Protest, Collective Action, and State-Society Relations.
  • The pandemic and changing dynamics of domestic and foreign policies in the Middle East

Panel proposals should include up to 500 words abstract, names of panelists and their paper titles. Panels should be a maximum of 4 panelists – at least two of them are based in the Arab world. Interested applicants should fill the below FORM before Sunday September 6. Please make sure the proposal captures how your panel and papers contribute to the overall theme of the conference.
